And the best part is you can be finished early enough to get the kids to bed, count down to midnight, and sip champagne with the grown-ups! 

New Year’s Eve at Noon

Doors open at 9 am with activities celebrating New Year’s Eve around the world! As the countdown to noon begins, a giant illuminated ball descends and lands at the foot of EDDIE, kicking off the biggest mid-day celebration in town! Free with museum admission or membership.

  • Enjoy a juice box toast at noon!

Cost: Children and Adults: $11.50; Seniors (62+): $10.50; Military (with ID): $10.50; Children under two: Free

Noon Year’s Eve Party

Bring your family out to ring in the new year at noon. The countdown fun includes time capsules, noisemakers, dancing, games, snacks and more. For more information, call 798-7880, ext. 3. (all ages)

Hap-Pea All Year Storytime

Just in time for New Year’s, the peas from the bestselling LMNO Peas are back for more fun — this time exploring the months of the year! Join us for Storytime and activities featuring Hap-Pea All Year.      

Time: 11 am

Location: Barnes and Noble, Midtown at Forest Acres, Richland Fashion Mall, 3400 Forest Drive, Columbia 29204

Holiday Lights on the River

Don’t miss your last chance to experience the magic of the Midlands Largest Drive-Thru Lights Show! Saluda Shoals Park will come alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park! Enjoy the Dazzling Dancing Forest with its dancing, lighted trees synchronized to classical and whimsical holiday music. See the three dimensional Victorian Village, Old Man Winter, the holiday classic Twelve Days of Christmas and so much more, all in sparkling lights.

Time: 6 – 10 pm

Location: Saluda Shoals, East entrance at 6071 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia 29210

Cost: $15 per car, plus additional activities offered at a nominal fee ($1-$10)

WOW! New Year’s Eve Kids Carnival

There is a lot for you to do too–amusement rides, carnival games, karaoke, food & drink vendors, jumps, face-painting and a Ferris wheel! Parents can come back and see a colossal fireworks show as the clock strikes midnight!

Time: 6 – 11 pm

Location: On Main Street in between Washington and Taylor Streets in downtown Columbia

Cost: Free
