My New Love :: Maternity Fashion From Stitch Fix

Maternity Fashion From Stitch Fix - Columbia SC Moms BlogOkay, so maybe we don’t consider ourselves, or even want to be, fashionista moms. BUT, have you ever found yourself wondering where all the cute maternity clothes are?

I have!

I am pregnant with our third child this year and started looking for some maternity clothes at Target because don’t we all start at Target? I have not found many dresses or tops, sadly. Those little tiny things with ruching on the sides are not work appropriate for my office … and I’ve barely seen anything that I would call cute.

Old Navy maternity filled my closet when I was pregnant with our first child. I was ordering dresses and tops like I had a money tree in the backyard that produced new fruit overnight! But some of those pieces have lost shape (sadly) or are for when I’m closer to the end of pregnancy rather than the beginning.

Motherhood Maternity is hit or miss for me, because if I’m honest, some of it is really cute but other items just seems super outdated or should be worn by a 12-year-old. Sorry … I feel bad about saying that, really I do. But I will say I do like most of the pieces in their Jessica Simpson line.

So here we are with baby #3 on the way and I am a huge fan of Stitch Fix – when not pregnant. Best news ever came when they announced in April of this year that they were expanding their clothing to include maternity!

I felt it was fate. I was newly pregnant at the time, and just KNEW that I would have to try it out to see what I might get in my fix!

How It Works

For those of you unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, you create an online account, fill out a style profile (you get to look at some great outfits and say, hey, that’s me, or heck-to-the-no) and based on all the info you put in, your stylist creates a “fix” for you. You can tell your stylist if you prefer more work-appropriate clothing or relaxed wear (how often you might wear jeans, for example).

You can choose your price range. You can request jewelry or shoes (I always get shoes!). You can link up a Pinterest board (mine links to “My Style” board) so your stylist has more ideas of what you like.

Then, you schedule your fix – for whenever you want. After payday? Done. After a bonus? You got it. Five pieces show up … ready to be tried on and strutted around your bedroom. You get three days to decide if you want to keep some or all of your fix.

Notes: You pay a $20 styling fee upfront that comes off the total of what you decide to keep. If you keep all five pieces, you get 25% off your total.
