The Perfect Mom’s Day Out {GIF Style}

I don’t get any alone time at all. As a SAHM with a husband who works all of the time, and four kids, it’s safe to say that alone time for me is pretty much non-existent.

The last time I had a kid free evening (courtesy of our church’s kid’s night out), my husband and I had no idea what to do with ourselves. We ate for about 30 minutes and then picked up the kids.

Pretty sad.

Like Scarlett O’Hara vowed to never go hungry again, I vowed at that moment to never let an opportunity like that slip through my finger tips. So I have enacted a full fledged plan on what to do if I were to have a day alone to myself.

Let’s begin with the moment I found out the day was just for me…

Instant mood changer

I would probably be happier than Dobby when he received the sock from Lucius Malfoy if I found out I was getting an entire day to myself. That look of pure elation in his eyes, can only be matched by a mom who hasn’t left the house in months.

First, meet up with a friend

In this case, my friend would be my sister. We can catch up on the latest celebrity gossip, what’s hot on Netflix and where we can find the best spot in town to get a mimosa. All while we enjoy the peace and quite of not hearing someone hit someone for the 50th time.

Then, self-care

It’s about time for my eyebrows to be done again. What is that term “on-fleek?” What ever the case, this would be activity number one. Threading, waxing I don’t care. I just need them done. Especially since I look like Milhouse from the Simpsons. And while I am at it, I may stop at the MAC counter to get my face “beat.”

Next, shopping

I don’t necessarily need a new pair of shoes, but I do need bread. Being able to grocery shop without someone having a meltdown would be wonderful.

Time for lunch

I would forgo my faux veganism to have just ONE meal that didn’t result in 4 little hands grabbing at my food. Goodbye Kale, hello 5 Guys. And I think my sis and I would enjoy this on a bounce house.

Finish up with some relaxation

This is most important — I mean it is the reason for needing a day out to begin with. I don’t need anything fancy. I could deal with just a full body, 90 minute Swedish Massage. I’m not picky at all.

Finally, arrive home

And when I return home with my eyebrows done, my face beat; with the loaf of bread and feeling refreshed, I would want my husband to meet me at the door with this look on his face.

This isn’t too much to ask for, right?

I gotta know, what would your perfect Mom’s day out look like? I may need to add to my list!
