Toddlertime

Storytime is a fun way to introduce preschoolers to literature. It includes books, storytelling, poetry and songs. For more information, call 785-3519. (ages 2 – 5 years)

Books & Beyond – Santa

A special holiday treat – Santa will slip away from his busy North Pole schedule to visit with children of all ages. You can take a selfie with old St. Nick and Mrs. Claus. Call 785-3050 for more information.

Cookies with Mymo!

Bring friends and family for Cookies with Mymo at My Gym Northeast Columbia. Mymo will be making an appearance and bringing cookies with him to share. We’ve planned exciting My Gym activities, games, rides, music and more! Members – $8; Siblings – $6. Nonmembers – $10; Siblings – $6. Registration Required! Spots are limited.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical

Don’t miss this buoyant new musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic. The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world–so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. Silent night? Not a chance. But sometimes a little joyful noise is just right for Christmas.

$10 for children 3 years old through adult | Seniors & Active Duty Military $8 | All tickets are $5 on Saturday nights at 7 p.m. | Advance tickets are strongly encouraged.

Time: 7 p.m.

Location: Columbia Children’s Theatre, 1st level of Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive–the corner of Beltline and Forest Dr. The theatre is located on the 1st level between Barnes & Noble and Belk.

Festivals of Sharing

Families are invited to explore how the holiday season is celebrated around the world through performances, hands-on activities, story time, and information tables.

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Big Golden Book Storytime

Join us as we follow Olaf, Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa through a frozen adventure to find the best holiday traditions. Activities to follow.

Heroes of Ancient Greece

Join Pan, the Protector of the Forest, as he shares three of the most famous stories from Greek Mythology: Pandora’s Box, Orpheus in the Underworld, and Theseus versus the Minotaur. This epic production introduces dozens of mythological characters and stories. It features elaborate shadow puppets and some of our largest marionettes!

Time: 11 a.m. & 3 p.m.

Science Magic!

It looks like magic, but it’s really science! Chemistry teacher Robert Ellington dazzles and teaches in a magic show that’s fun for all ages!

SENSORY JUMP at PLEX HIWIRE

We have this hour reserved for our special needs community and their caregivers who would like to come out and jump and play in a sensory friendly environment. This event will be held at the same time on the 2nd Sunday of each month.
$11 per child (tickets available at the park). Price includes one parent/caregiver with child.

Time: noon – 1 p.m.

Passport to Art: Matisse Motifs

This month we’re exploring shape and pattern. Join us to create your own visual poetry. At 1:00 p.m., take a tour of Henri Matisse: Jazz & Poetry on Paper to see what kinds of shapes the artist used in his work. This drop-in program for families features a new hands-on art project each month. Free.
