Black Friday “Thanks” giving Camp Fundraiser

Three My Gym instructors will run camp activities around their “thanks” theme. ​Cost: $25 first child/$20 siblings. $10 per child will be donated to My Gym Challenged America Foundation, which is committed to promoting physical fitness and movement for children of all abilities and economic circumstances with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and fun. Payment is required upon registration. Due to the fundraiser, we will not be able to provide a refund or credit if less than a 48 hour cancellation notice is provided. Class limited to 25 participants. Ages 3-8 years old. Register here.

Historic Holiday House Tours

Explore the history of holidays past in the decorated Robert Mills House, Hampton-Preston Mansion and Mann-Simons Site this winter. Hear stories of how families decorated and entertained during the 19th and early 20th centuries, and view a variety of decorations that show how Christmas celebrations have evolved over time into the traditions we know today. $5; $4; seniors, military & students; $3 children 6-17; free for members & children under 6.

Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Main Street Ice

Grab your family and friends, and head down to Boyd Plaza for the opening day of Main Street ICE! The City of Columbia’s outdoor ice skating rink, located at the corner of Main and Hampton streets, returns for another year of fun for the whole family. The fee to skate is $10 for adults, $8 for children (age 12 and under) and $8 for active duty military and seniors (55+). The fee includes skate rentals.

Time: 4 p.m.-10 p.m.

Lights Before Christmas

Experience Columbia’s longest running holiday tradition—the 27th annual Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The Zoo will light up each evening with more than one million twinkling lights and countless animated images representing some of Riverbanks’ most loveable residents. Guests can roast marshmallows at the jingle bell bonfire, visit with Santa and enjoy the festive sounds of the Music in Motion lights spectacular. Riverbanks is also the only place in town where it snows every night! Cost: $10 Adults / $8 Children ages 2–12. All Riverbanks members receive one free visit. Order tickets here.

Holiday Lights on the River

Saluda Shoals Park will come alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park!

Enjoy the Dazzling Dancing Forest with its dancing, lighted trees synchronized to classical and whimsical holiday music. See the three dimensional Victorian Village, Old Man Winter, the holiday classic Twelve Days of Christmas and so much more, all in sparkling lights.

Take a stroll along the boardwalk through the Wetland Wonderland Walking Trail and watch nature come to life in sparkling lights. Take a hayride to the boardwalk for $1 per person or walk along the new trail to the Wetland and enjoy a laser light show and the Deck the Doors Holiday door display along the way. Holiday Lights admission applies.

Get ready for the slide of your life on the Winter Wonder Ride at Holiday Lights on the River.  Zip through a series of lighted arches and experience downhill tubing without the snow on this 125 foot, exciting, fun-packed family ride. Tubes are provided. The Winter Wonder Ride is suitable for children and adults 42″ and taller. If you are under the age of (4) you must be accompanied by your parents or guardian. Fee: $2 per slide with Holiday Lights admission or $10 for and all you can slide pass.

Cars: $15; 15-Passenger Vans: $25; Buses: $40

Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker

The Nutcracker features dancers, both pre-professional and professional, from all over the region including the Carolina Ballet senior, junior and apprentice ensembles. All seats are general admission and are $20.50 for adults and $15.50 for students. Student tickets are available at The Township Auditorium Box Office ONLY.

How to Build a Give and Save Bank

  • Come learn how to build a Give and Save bank
  • FREE hands-on workshops; designed for children ages 5 – 12
  • All kid get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.
  • Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.
  • Kids Workshop activities are scheduled on a first come/first served basis. Please do not arrive before 9:00 a.m.
  • Thank you for registering online to help us better plan our craft kit quantities needed.

Jack and the Giants

Giants are supposed to be big, mean, and nasty. They eat anyone who crosses their path. But Flinch isn’t like other giants. He’s constantly picked on by his bigger brothers for being sweet, caring, and … a vegetarian! When he sneaks away from his home in the mountaintops to the valley below, he befriends a poor young boy named Jack. Soon he’s found a new home, but his bigger brothers won’t let him go that easily. Tickets $5 at the door or $5.75 online.

Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker

The Nutcracker features dancers, both pre-professional and professional, from all over the region including the Carolina Ballet senior, junior and apprentice ensembles. Ticket Prices: Orchestra $20.50 (reserved seating), 1st Balcony $15.50 (reserved seating), 2nd Balcony & Gallery $12.50 (general admission). Student tickets for all areas are $12.50 and available at the box office only. Children 6 and under are free for the Sunday matinee ONLY but they must have a ticket (Free children tickets are available at The Township Auditorium Box Office ONLY).
