Free Fridays at Riverbanks Zoo

Residents of Richland and Lexington counties will receive free admission to the park every Friday during the months of January and February. Guests will be asked to provide a valid driver’s license, property tax statement or vehicle registration as proof of residency.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Out Of This World

In Out Of This World, audiences will be riveted by an interactive, action-packed storyline filled with space-age family fun and technology, which deepens their connection to the performers. Through the lens of a magic telescope capable of discovering the most spectacular circus stars in the galaxy, they will join the Circus Space Fleet on a heroic mission of good versus evil to bring performers back to Earth, traveling to interstellar worlds of sand, water, fire and ice.

Once On This Island Jr.

With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean-flavored score, Once on This Island JR. is a highly original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairy tale, The Little Mermaid, and the Tony-nominated Broadway musical by the legendary writing team, Ahrens and Flaherty.

Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.

$10.00 for children 3 years old through adult. Seniors & Active Duty Military $8.00

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Come for a once-in-a-lifetime special storytime with virtual stars Dr. Carla Hayden, the Librarian of Congress, and award-winning author Meg Medina. Dr. Hayden is our nation’s first African American Librarian of Congress and a library hero! Meg Medina won the 2016 Pura Belpre Honor for her writing. You’ll get a storytime AND a chance to ask questions.

But Look out for the Wicked Witch, she sees everything from her tower in the West! The classic story comes to life; complete with silver slippers, flying monkeys, runaway hot air balloons, and even a trip to Quadling Country (a leg of the journey that is skipped in the movie).
