Hands on Art

Simple art fun for the very young. Dress for a mess! Ages 3-5. Free.

Summer Reading – Chad Crews: The Magical Scientific Reading Extravaganza

Chad’s shows are entertaining and educational. He combines magic, music, puppetry, live animals, humor, and audience participation to reinforce the importance of reading and using the library. Chad has a new snake for us to meet this summer – a snake that does magic tricks! Please call Youth Services at 785-3272 for more information. Free event for ages K5 – Grade 5.

Pigskin Poets

Get your visors ready! Spurrier’s Gamecocks are taking the field at Richland Library for an afternoon of stories, games, and autographs. Free for children of all ages.

Get Pop-Cultured-The Hoop Show

Children are invited to come and watch a fun Hula-hoop demonstration. Bring your Hula-hoop and learn to do new tricks.

Summer Movie Series at Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park is showing Chicken Run as part of their Summer Movie Series. Before the film starts rolling, there will be face painting, games, surprises and fun for the whole family. Disney’s Frozen and the Snow Ball

Join Elsa, Anna and friends for fun before enjoying the full-screen, feature presentation of Disney’s newest classic, Frozen. The Snow Ball, presented in partnership with Girls Rock Columbia, will feature snacks by Cromer’s, face painting, hair striping, crafts, photo booths and an onstage dance party! Costumes encouraged, and singing along to “Let it Go” will be welcomed. It’s a cool treat amid the summer heat! Tickets $10.
