Main Street Ice

Grab your family and friends, and head down to Boyd Plaza for Main Street ICE — The City of Columbia’s outdoor ice skating rink! $10 for adults / $8 for children ages 12 and under / $8 Active Duty Military with ID and Seniors age 55 and up

Time: 1 – 10 p.m.

Location: Boyd Plaza, corner of Hampton and Main Streets, Columbia 29201


Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens

Experience Columbia’s longest running holiday tradition—the 30th annual Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden. The Zoo will illuminate at 5 p.m. each evening with nearly one million twinkling lights and countless animated images. Guests are invited to meander through the park while soaking in the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Plus, Riverbanks is the only place in town where it snows every night. $9 Children (ages 2-12 years), $11 Adults, younger than 2 free (all Riverbanks members receive one free visit with a valid membership)

Time: 5 – 9 p.m.

Location: Riverbanks Zoo, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia 29210


Holiday Lights on the River

Saluda Shoals Park will come alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park! Enjoy the Dazzling Dancing Forest with its dancing, lighted trees synchronized to classical and whimsical holiday music. See the three dimensional Victorian Village, Old Man Winter, the holiday classic Twelve Days of Christmas and so much more, all in sparkling lights. Activities offered nightly except Thanksgiving, Christmas eve and Christmas. $15 per car; $25 per 15-passenger  van; $40 per bus

Time: 6 – 10 p.m.

Location: Saluda Shoals, East entrance at 6071 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia 29210


The Nutcracker

Ann Brodie’s Carolina Ballet presents the Nutcracker.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: The Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor St, Columbia 29203

Christmas Tree Ornament

Join our hands-on workshop where you and your child can create a holiday picture frame that doubles as a Christmas ornament. Perfect for gifting or adding to the family’s holiday decor. Once the picture frame is built, your child can decorate it with paint and holiday stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.

Time: 9 a.m. – noon

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Time: 10 – 11 a.m.

Kids Club®

They make; you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a fun project. Sign up online or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Time: 10 a.m. – noon (drop-in)

Everything is Mama Storytime

Jimmy Fallon is back with a follow-up to his bestselling picture book Your Baby’s First Word Will Be DADA. His new book, Everything is Mama, is a lighthearted look at the world from a baby’s point of view, as different animals try to teach their children that there are other words in addition to mama. Activities to follow.

Time: 11 a.m.

Snow White

Join seven lovable Dwarfs as they retell this classic tale with a few new surprises. When the jealous Queen’s Magic Mirror proclaims Snow White the fairest one of all, she’ll need the help of the Dwarfs and a friendly bear who is more than he seems.  Field trip groups, ask about our puppet making activity. Participants can create either Snow White, a Dwarf, or a Knight! 

Time: 11 a.m. & 3 p.m.
