Kid’s Corn Maze

Bring the little ones for our amazing Corn Maze, just the right size for younger kids. Make it a new tradition and capture those memories! Pay $3 for each child to explore the maze and get a pumpkin at the end. Great spots throughout the maze for photo opportunities! Purchase tickets in our Fresh Produce Market. Tickets cannot be purchased online

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Scarecrows in the Garden

Scarecrows have taken over the Robert Mills House & Gardens! This free exhibit features handcrafted scarecrows made by local families, businesses, organizations and classrooms. On a stroll through the gardens this fall, you’ll see dozens of ghoulish, historic and colorful scarecrows. Keep an eye out for “Sneaky Steve,” a mischievous scarecrow hiding somewhere on the grounds in a new location each week. The exhibit is free and open to public during normal Historic Columbia hours, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday. Vote throughout the month for the “People’s Choice Award” and “Best Class Crow” by visiting the Gift Shop at Robert Mills!

2017 South Carolina State Fair

The South Carolina State Fair is best known for bringing 12 days of exhibits, competitions, food, midway rides and big-name entertainment to Columbia each October. It’s ranked one of the Top 50 fairs in the United States. Early ticket purchases for admissions, concerts and pay one price ride wristbands. Find out about 10 things you don’t want to miss!

Time: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Toddlertime

Storytime is a fun way to introduce preschoolers to literature. It includes books, storytelling, poetry and songs. For more information, call 785-3519. (ages 2 – 5 years)

Tween Extreme: Lego Club

Join the block party — use your imagination, curiosity and problem-solving skills to build different Lego creations. Boo at the Zoo

Children 12 and under are invited to wear costumes for a spook-fest complete with a trick-or-treat trail (bring your own bag or container for collecting candy), Frankenstein’s foam zone, Mummy’s Eeeky Freaky Dancy party and much more! Bring extra cash to participate in the marshmallow roast, haunted carousel ($2) and spooky spots & stripes railroad ($2). $9 Riverbanks members, $11 general public, children younger than 2 free. Tickets should be purchased in advance. A limited number of tickets available, and most nights will sell out! Any unsold tickets the night of will be $13 at the gate.

Ride with us to our magical Pumpkin Patch where children will select a pumpkin to take home and have their picture taken. Coach $15 ages 3 and up; Open Air $20.00 ages 3 and up

Time: Every hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Snow White

Join seven lovable Dwarfs as they retell this classic tale with a few new surprises. When the jealous Queen’s Magic Mirror proclaims Snow White the fairest one of all, she’ll need the help of the Dwarfs and a friendly bear who is more than he seems.  Field trip groups, ask about our puppet making activity. Participants can create either Snow White, a Dwarf, or a Knight!

    The Thrills at the Mills in Lexington is actually on Saturday from 4-7, not Sunday!
