Kid’s Corn Maze

Bring the little ones for our amazing Corn Maze, just the right size for younger kids. Make it a new tradition and capture those memories! Pay $3 for each child to explore the maze and get a pumpkin at the end. Great spots throughout the maze for photo opportunities! Purchase tickets in our Fresh Produce Market. Tickets cannot be purchased online

Scarecrows in the Garden

Scarecrows have taken over the Robert Mills House & Gardens! This free exhibit features handcrafted scarecrows made by local families, businesses, organizations and classrooms. On a stroll through the gardens this fall, you’ll see dozens of ghoulish, historic and colorful scarecrows. Keep an eye out for “Sneaky Steve,” a mischievous scarecrow hiding somewhere on the grounds in a new location each week. The exhibit is free and open to public during normal Historic Columbia hours, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday. Vote throughout the month for the “People’s Choice Award” and “Best Class Crow” by visiting the Gift Shop at Robert Mills!

Storytime is a fun way to introduce preschoolers to literature. It includes books, storytelling, poetry and songs. For more information, call 785-3519. (ages 2 – 5 years)

Tween Extreme: Lego Club

Join the block party — use your imagination, curiosity and problem-solving skills to build different Lego creations. Garden Bros Circus

GARDEN BROTHERS CIRCUS celebrates 100 years entertaining families throughout North America. Last chance to see Elephants live! ‘Motorcycle Madness’ has motorcycle daredevils somersaulting and spinning in a big Globe of Doom; Chinese Acrobats, the Human Slingshot, Racing Camels, crazy comedy with Circus Clowns, daring aerialists; cirque artists. Its 1½ hours of excitement and fun at GARDEN BROTHERS CIRCUS.

Free children’s tickets have been distributed at all elementary schools, pre-schools, day care centers and churches. The Free Tickets are also available at sponsoring businesses in the area. First one hundred adult tickets sold online are only $9.95.

Historic Columbia’s Trunk or Treat

Children will enjoy trick-or-treating with a twist in a safe and fun environment. Community members and organizations will display decorated trunks filled with candy in the parking lot of the Robert Mills House. Awards and prizes for best costumes, best decorated trunk, and scarecrows will be given at 6:45 p.m. Free!

Time: 5:30 – 7 p.m.

Boo at the Zoo

Children 12 and under are invited to wear costumes for a spook-fest complete with a trick-or-treat trail (bring your own bag or container for collecting candy), Frankenstein’s foam zone, Mummy’s Eeeky Freaky Dancy party and much more! Bring extra cash to participate in the marshmallow roast, haunted carousel ($2) and spooky spots & stripes railroad ($2). $9 Riverbanks members, $11 general public, children younger than 2 free. Tickets should be purchased in advance. A limited number of tickets available, and most nights will sell out! Any unsold tickets the night of will be $13 at the gate.

Midland Madness Fall Festival

Join us for the 2nd Annual Midland Madness Fall Festival. More details will follow as the event gets closer. Please message us if you have questions or would like to volunteer. Free food for kids in costume while supplies last. Food available for purchase

Halloween at the Park

Bring your little ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating on our outdoor trick-or-treat trail through the park. Inside, enjoy carnival games and prizes, a costume contest, SCREAM contest, and all the family fun you can imagine! A wristband can be purchased for $5 per child. Concessions will available for purchase.

Ride with us to our magical Pumpkin Patch where children will select a pumpkin to take home and have their picture taken. Coach $15 ages 3 and up; Open Air $20.00 ages 3 and up

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Sleepy Hollow-een

Come join Village Square Theatre for our very first Halloween event featuring our current show The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! There will be games, food, and a costume contest and pumpkin carving contest for all ages.

Visit the Museum of OZ on this special Saturday featuring a chance to see, “The Wizard of Oz 4D Experience,” meet characters from the film and more.

Mary McScary and Creepy Pair of Underwear! Storytime

A special Halloween Storytime! First, in Mary McScary, bestselling authors R.L. Stine and Marc Brown join forces again in a funny story featuring a fearless anti-heroine that will have kids and their parents cheering. Then, in Creepy Pair of Underwear!, Aaron Reynolds and Peter Brown team up for a hilarious and creepy story of a brave rabbit and a very weird pair of underwear. Come in costume!

Snow White

Join seven lovable Dwarfs as they retell this classic tale with a few new surprises. When the jealous Queen’s Magic Mirror proclaims Snow White the fairest one of all, she’ll need the help of the Dwarfs and a friendly bear who is more than he seems.  Field trip groups, ask about our puppet making activity. Participants can create either Snow White, a Dwarf, or a Knight!

Hallopalooza XII 

Halloween is always fun at Wingard’s! Stop in and get ready for Halloween with your child, where they will enjoy riding the Gobblin Train and venturing thru the Corn Maze. The train is free and there is a $3 charge per child for the Corn Maze. There will be coloring, apple bobbing and more fun activities for the children, and Ray’s Pizza will be here, selling the best NY pizza this side of New Jersey!

Make It, Take It Halloween Crafts

Kids and teens are invited to concoct a fun, spooky and silly Halloween Treat Bag, and claim a treat to take home. Age Group(s): Children All Ages, 13 – 18

Will O’The Wisp

Enjoy train rides, s’mores, face painting, crafts, the mega maze, the famous Pumpkin Show, amazing animals with park ranger Zach Pensa, games, and candy! Tickets are limited and should be purchased in advance. If tickets are still available on Oct. 28, they will be sold at the start of the event. $7 per child/$2 per adult in advance, $8 per child/$3 per adult day of.

Celebrate Fall with The Market Restaurant and Tea Room! Enjoy a fun-filled day of food, local artisans, and live entertainment at the SC State Farmer’s Market. Bring the kids in costume for trick or treating with the vendors!
