15 Real Mom Confessions

2

Moms do all kinds of things for their children. We love them, nurture them, take care of them when they’re sick, act as their chauffeur, sacrifice things for ourselves so that we can give to them…

But then there are those other things we do. Things we know all moms do, but we won’t necessarily admit to. You know, like letting our kids eat food off of the floor or leaving a diaper on them even when we know it’s wet because maybe we’re almost out of diapers and can’t get to the store or we just don’t feel like changing a diaper.

We all have these dirty little secrets.

Well, today, I’m letting you in on mine. Here are 15 things I’ve actually done. Here are my Mom Confessions:

  1. Sometimes I let my kids go four days without a bath.
  2. I’ve let my kids eat marshmallows for breakfast. More than once.
  3. I used a pantyliner to wipe my son’s nose when we were at the store and I didn’t have any more Kleenex.
  4. I also told my son to wipe his boogers on his own pants.
  5. Some days I let my two-year-old watch television for WAY too long just so I can get some work done.
  6. Sometimes I leave my son in his room during nap time, even if he’s awake and running around, just so I can have some time to myself.
  7. I let my 2-year-old watch Taylor Swift music videos. And he LOVES her. His grandmother even gave him a Taylor Swift CD for Christmas. It was his favorite gift.
  8. When I read to my son at bedtime, sometimes I skip pages if I don’t feel like reading.
  9. Sometimes I give myself a mommy time and go upstairs to my bedroom just so I can get away from the noise and whining and “Mommy, I want…”
  10. I’ve been known to take money out of my kids’ piggy bank if I need change.
  11. I’ve eaten my kids’ vitamins when I ran out of mine. And sometimes, just because.
  12. I sleep on the couch when my kids wake up first thing in the morning while they play and watch TV. Mostly watch TV.
  13. I eat my kids’ Star Wars cereal because it tastes better than my “adult” cereal.
  14. There are times I pretend I don’t hear my kids when they call for me from a different room.
  15. I make my two-year-old think I understand what he says when sometimes I really don’t.
