5 Great “Mom's Night Out” in Columbia - Columbia SC Moms BlogEvery now and then, we have to let our inner sorority girl out. That woman we were before our lives became about running an entire household while putting our priorities last. Dead Last. Luckily, Columbia has a wide variety of activities for moms with a variety of interests. Here are five ideas for your next mom’s night out!

    For the Problem Solver:

Escape Plan Columbia. Your group is locked in a room (you can choose from either espionage or missing), given 60 minutes to figure out the clues, solve the mystery and escape. Don’t worry, there is an exit button. If you and your team are really stuck, staff is on hand to give you additional clues to help you successfully navigate the challenge.

A great way to escape the stress of everyday life can be to jump into another mystery.

    For the Artist

Several locations throughout the Midlands will host paint nights for moms looking to release their inner creativity. The Mad Platter has events like BYOB Tuesday, Military Night and Ladies Night for moms looking to paint ceramics. Wine & Design Columbia allows you to unleash your inner Picasso by painting while you sip some fermented beverages. In Northeast Columbia, ladies can unwind at Unwine. Bring some wine and cheese to enjoy before the work begins. In Lexington, moms can Paint & Pour with a group as small as 6.

Spending a night painting with other moms can unleash your artistic side.

For the Future Food Network Star:

At Let’s Cook Culinary Studio you can learn, taste, and experience the culinary arts from a professional chef. Something other than mac and cheese or the latest crockpot Pinterest find! SakiTumi also offers a sushi class with miso soup, ginger salad, and making your own rolls.

Focusing your energy on creating something really great can be just what you need.

    For the Sports Fan:

The new minor league team, the Columbia Fireflies has great events like Ladies Night, half price beer night and after-game fireworks. Even for those who are not in love with America’s pastime, it’s a great environment for sitting and catching up with friends. Don’t want to drive into the city? You can also catch a game with the Lexington Blowfish.

You don’t have to love baseball to enjoy a minor league baseball game.

    For the Water Lover:

Lake Murray Cruises has public cruises where you can purchase tickets for dinner and a cruise around the lake. If you prefer to be in the water instead of sailing on it, grab some friends, a tube and head down the river. Palmetto Outdoors can set you up with the watercraft of your choosing as you tube, kayak or canoe down the rapids.

Columbia has so many natural resources. Water sports are a great way to spend time with mom friends.

Spending time with your mom friends doesn’t have to involve sitting around and sharing a glass of wine (although that’s a guaranteed good time, too). Columbia has so much to offer when we are due for a much-needed mom’s night out.
