As your family transitions to summer, it can be hard to find something fun, affordable, and air-conditioned that the whole family will enjoy. The Nickelodeon recommends a movie night on Main Street!
The Nickelodeon, a nonprofit theater, is offering fun, family movies throughout the summer. In June, you can take your family to the “Summer Family Favorites” series, which offers $5 tickets for children and films that are equally fun for parents and kids.
“Summer Family Favorites” begins on June 8 with My Neighbor Totoro, a whimsical animated adventure starring the bunny-like Totoro and smiling Catbus. To celebrate the series kickoff, The Belgian Waffle Truck will be serving sweet and savory delights right outside the theater. On June 11, have fun storming the castle and sailing toward the Cliffs of Insanity during the hilarious fairytale adventure, The Princess Bride. On June 18, bring your kids to The Sandlot, and help cheer for the boys as they practice pitching and take on their biggest foe, The Beast!
After “Summer Family Favorites,” the Nickelodeon will continue offering $5 children’s tickets to films rated G or PG. This summer, you can grab discounted tickets to RBG, The Wizard of OZ, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. More films are always being added to their website, www.nickelodeon.org.
Of course, you’ll want a snack when you come the movies, but don’t worry about the cost. The Nickelodeon offers a wide variety of unique and classic concessions at lower than average prices — you can get popcorn, candy, and a soda for only $7 — or you can bring in treats from Sweet Cream Company and Mast General Store! Buy tickets online, walk right into the theater, and enjoy family movies all summer long at the Nick!
