5 Fun Ideas for a Moms Night In

0

Sometimes you need some time with your friends where you can relax and have fun. A moms night in is just as much fun as a moms night out … and it’s easier on the wallet! Here are five, fun ideas.

Bunco Night

Get your friends together for Bunco night. Have everyone bring a dish to share and BYOB. Some bunco groups even have themes for that night such as 80’s bunco, luau bunco, Cinco de Mayo bunco, etc.

Bunco is a dice game, usually played with twelve players that are divided into groups of four at a table (a head table, a middle table and a bottom table). Players at each table pair up into two teams and take turns rolling three dice trying to score points. Usually each game is six rounds. Players score points by rolling three dice trying to match the dice to the current round (rolling a 1 for Round 1, etc. A bunco is when all three dice match the current round.

Tables play until someone scores a Bunco or the head table reaches 21 points. After each round has ended, players stand up and the winning team from each table moves up, while the losing team stays put. For the head table, instead of the losing team staying, the losing team moves down to the lowest table. After everyone moves, play starts with the next round, until all rounds are completed and the game is finished. Usually, a bunco night has four rounds. After the game is over, round wins, losses and buncos are tallied up to determine winner(s) and/or award prizes.

Movie Night

Have your girlfriends over for a night in to watch your favorite romcoms or chick flicks (anything but kid movies)! Grab some popcorn and wine to snack on while you are in your comfy pajamas. Sometimes the best nights are where you unwind with friends and shut your brain off while getting lost in a great movie.

Book Club

Book clubs can be a moms night in or moms night out! The host picks a book for everyone to read and plans a date to get together to talk about the book over food and cocktails. After talking about the book, enjoy each other’s company catching up on life and anything else. If you’re like me, it’s also an excuse to find time to read a good book.

Game Night

Get together to play other games besides bunco: Left Center Right (LCR), cards, Scattergories, Trivial Pursuit, etc. Basically, any game is an excuse to have a moms night in and have some fun. You can play whatever board games you and your friends have around the house. Or take it to the next level and have a Minute to Win It Game night where you come up with different games to compete with each other. One example of a game is cookie face where each person has a cookie placed on their forehead, and has to get it in their mouth without touching it in their hands.

Craft Night

Have a night in to get together and scrapbook, paint, or knit depending on your hobbies. One party idea is a Pinterest party. If you’re like me, you’re always pinning crafty things on Pinterest, but never have time to make any of them. With a Pinterest party, create a board where you and your friends can add pins of crafts they want to try. Then, either have the host pick one or two crafts that guests can make at the party or have each guest pick a craft and their supplies for that craft. For additional fun, have each person make a dish they found on Pinterest to bring to the potluck.
