Friday | December 1, 2017

Discovery Day: Monkey Madness

Look out! Monkey Madness is taking over! Yes, this program is all about our favorite primates and what makes them so special. Do they really eat bananas? Do they spend time grooming one another? Let’s monkey around and find out! COST: $6 for one child (with one adult) per class. Plus admission for general public. Ages 2-5. Registration required.

Time: 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. & 11 – 11:45 a.m.

Storytime is a fun way to introduce preschoolers to literature. It includes books, storytelling, poetry and songs. For more information, call 785-3519. (ages 2 – 5 years)

The Polar Express Storytime

All aboard! Come in your PJs and join us for a magical evening as we host our annual Storytime of the beloved classic The Polar Express. Coloring and activities to follow.

Saturday | December 2, 2017

Gingerbread House

Build holiday memories in our hands-on workshop where you and your child can put together a wooden gingerbread house that will last year after year. No frosting required! Once the gingerbread house is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Time: 10 – 11 a.m.

Gingerbread Houses

Join us for a traditional holiday craft. All supplies provided by the Friends of the Library. All ages welcome. Registration required. Call 798-7880, Ext. 2 for more information.

Kids Club®

They make; you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a fun project. Sign up online or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Plink, Rattle, Toot! Words Meet Music

Join us for a live performance of picture books and instruments in perfect harmony. A collaboration of MOO! @USC and Richland Library.

Time: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. 

Location: Richland Library North Main, North Main Large Meeting Space

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Storytime

This classic, heartwarming story about the effects of the Christmas spirit will grow even the coldest and smallest of hearts three sizes. Activities to follow.

Heroes of Ancient Greece

Join Pan, the Protector of the Forest, as he shares three of the most famous stories from Greek Mythology: Pandora’s Box, Orpheus in the Underworld, and Theseus versus the Minotaur. This epic production introduces dozens of mythological characters and stories. It features elaborate shadow puppets and some of our largest marionettes!

Time: 11 a.m. & 3 p.m.

Sunday | December 3, 2017

First Citizens First Sunday

General admission and is only $1 for guests on the first Sunday of every month! PLUS enjoy 4-D movies, planetarium shows and/or blockbuster exhibit admission, for only an extra $5 each!
