Terminix Half-price Day!

Families can enjoy a fun day at EdVenture for half the price of regular admission, all day on Friday, June 9, 9am–5pm.

The half-priced admission will be $5.75 for children and adults and $5.25 for seniors over 61 years of age, military and educators with identification. Admission is free for members and children under 2 years. Children will be able to give pretend shots with toy syringes and adhesive bandages. Flu shot discounts will be available for those paying cash, and insurance paperwork can be completed to file for coverage. Information will be on-hand about the Doctor’s Care Online Check-in service and its mobile app, and free grocery bags and koozies will be offered.

Activities include:

  • Butterfly release 
  • Pop Up PESTaurant – Terminix to set up edible bugs in the Cooking Lab.
  • Create a Critter craft
  • Pest Passport – Visit different stations and get a passport stamp. Each child with a complete passport takes home a special prize.
  • Enter to win mosquito service for your home!

Garden Sprouts

Celebrate the season with stories about nature and then get your hands dirty on our garden patio.

Time: 11 a.m. – noon

Twilight in the Garden: featuring Tarzan

The big screen returns to Riverbanks on select Friday nights this summer. Explore Waterfall Junction then enjoy a family-friendly movie beginning at dusk (Waterfall Junction will open at 6:00pm and close just prior to the start of the movie). Food and beverages also will be available for purchase. More information will be posted closer-to-date.
COST: $3 Riverbanks members / $5 general public.

Robotics Day

The Transformers have nothing on this day. Come have fun with bots! Using laptops, your little engineer will enjoy learning how to build and program a robot.

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Cayce Field Days

Join the Cayce-West Columbia (CWC) Junior Chamber at Memorial Park to experience Cayce Field Days, an interactive field day hosted each Saturday in June. The Cayce Field Days provide the community with a free program to keep kids active and social at the start of summer. This event is free to children from preschool to middle school across the Midlands.

Cayce Field Days was created by the Cayce-West Columbia Junior Chamber and the City of Cayce to provide a resource to the community where kids spend each Saturday in June being physically active. Children will be divided into age groups for each activity, play games such as GaGa Ball, Kickball, Soccer, Tennis, Badminton and get crafty at the tie-dye station where children will create their own field day shirt to take home.

Kids Club® Play-doh Ice Cream

They make; you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a fun project. Sign up online or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Storytime

With his trademark use of humorous verse and illustrations, Dr. Seuss’s wonderfully wise graduation speech will truly inspire anyone starting out in the world! Join us at this special Storytime, with activities to follow.

Little Red Riding Hood

Big Bad Wolf can’t get any respect. He’s the laughing stock of the forest. He can’t even get the Three Little Pigs to answer the door. Just when he’s at an all time low, a little girl in a red hood happens by and he sees an opportunity! Will Big Bad live up to his name? Or will Little Red be able to outsmart him and make it safely to her Grandma? With a variety of puppetry techniques and plenty of humor, Little Red Riding Hood is an irreverent take on the classic fairy tale.

Passport to Art: Shades of Gray

Get inspired by Enduring Spirit: The Art of Tyrone Geter and create your own portraits with charcoal. This drop-in studio program for families features a new hands-on art project each month. Join us at 1:00 p.m. for a tour of the exhibition.
