Richland Library and Lexington Library hold LOTS of story times over the weekend! Click the links to find a time that works for your family.

Toddlertime is an interactive program for toddlers and their caregivers that encourages early enjoyment and development of language and literature through stories, rhymes and songs. For more information, call (803) 345-5479. (ages 18 – 35 months)

Tween Extreme – LEGO Mania

Join the block party — use your imagination, curiosity and problem-solving skills to build different Lego creations. The Lego Club enhances learning with hands-on activities that promote reading and critical-thinking at all ages. Registration required. For more information, call (803) 345-5479. (grades 4 – 6)

The MOM Sale-Fall/Winter Children’s Consignment

The Multiples of the Midlands Club is hosting its M.O.M. Sale & you can save BIG! Large selection of children’s clothing (preemie-14), maternity wear, toys & books, furniture & equipment, shoes, car seats, strollers, entertainment & SO much more! Free admission & parking.

Kick It Karate

Kick it Karate is a free specialized karate class for all kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This SC Developmental Disabilities Council program takes place at Capital Karate in Rosewood every Saturday morning (pending holidays and cancellations due to weather).

Qualified and certified karate instructors take time to help those with special needs develop confidence and basic karate moves. There are three age groups:

  • Ages 3-6 class from 9.15-9.45 a.m.
  • Ages 7-12 class from 10-10:30 a.m.
  • Ages 13+ class from 10.45-11.15 a.m.

Soda City Market

Nature Discovery Walk

Join one of our knowledgeable volunteer naturalists for a fun and engaging walk along the park’s Boardwalk. Discover park wildlife and the amazing diversity of plant life that make Congaree National Park unique. Please wear comfortable footwear and bring water and insect repellent.

LEAP: Romp & Rhyme Babytime

Literacy, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) is an interactive program for babies and their caregivers that uses books, rhymes, games, fingerplays and songs to encourage literacy through learning. For more information, call 785-2630. (ages birth – 18 months)

Kids Club®

They make; you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a fun project. Sign up online or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Teen Anime Club

Come for a viewing of an episode of an anime, discuss your favorite shows and manga, and try some delicious snacks imported from Japan! Age Group(s): 13 – 18, Programs for Teens

Storytime and Activities Featuring Corduroy Takes a Bow

Celebrate 50 years of America’s favorite teddy bear with a brand-new, classically illustrated picture book by Academy Award winner Viola Davis. Join us for Storytime and get a coupon from our Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4!

Dino Tales

A vain Prince learns a valuable lesson when he is turned into a hulking Beast for his selfish behavior. It will take a young woman named Beauty to teach him the error of his ways. CMT’s adaptation has  both drama and comedy, and features detailed marionettes and rod puppets.

Meet the Princess Play Date!

Come play my way at The Ausome Gym and meet a princess at the same time! Get your picture taken with your favorite character. Drop ins and members welcome. Made possible by the Moment of Magic Foundation.

SouthEast Crab Feast

Please join us for the SouthEast Crab Feast – Columbia (Fall) event. This event offers the Low Country Coastal Heritage of outdoor cooking of fresh seafood. This highly anticipated event will offer ALL YOU CAN EAT fresh Blue Crabs, one side of Fish & Chips, Snow Crab Legs Platter (Optional), Music and a Family Friendly Environment for the entire family.

This event historically sells out early every year therefore we recommend that you secure your tickets ASAP. All advance ticket purchases will be held in the buyers name to redeem at Will Call on the day of the event. The buyer will need a valid ID to claim their tickets.

Limited seating will be available on a first come first serve basis. You are welcome to bring your own chair and/or table to assure you have seating accommodations. SouthEast Crab Feast seafood is seasoned heavy to a great taste however you are welcome to bring your own personal condiments such as dipping sauces, special seasoning and/or special eating tool. SouthEast Crab Feast DO NOT allow guest to bring large coolers, beverages or large bags into the event. Soda and bottle water will be on sale.

Finally, all ticket sales are final. The ticket buyer agrees that all ticket holders are not allergic to seafood and hold harmless SouthEast Crab Feast for any allergic reaction.

Passport to Art: That’s a Relief!

The CMA collection is back! Let’s explore the new galleries and look at relief sculpture, which combines 2D art with 3D sculpture to create a picture that pops off the background. Then create your very own metal embossed piece. This drop-in program for families features a new hands-on art project each month.
